Just to preface- I am not a crazy health nut, BUT I do find value in taking care of myself while traveling. I guess it would be safe to say I’m a bit of a high maintenance traveler. Before and during the flight I drink lots of peppermint tea in order to reduce bloating. I also like to have my favorite healthy snacks on-hand: Trader Joe’s Packed Almonds, David Kirsch Bars, and Ricola Lemon Mint Cough drops.
When I am home I work out regularly, so when I am away I like to maintain somewhat of a routine. I use the app Sportaneous to find cool, local exercise classes in the area that I am visiting, in order to do what the locals do. I like to try new things, and this is a great way to do it and get a great workout in. Working out is obviously a great way to maintain the figure that you work so hard on while at home, but exercising is also super beneficial when traveling. I notice that if I wake up and work out while away, my body is less likely to feel the before and after affects of my trip. You don’t have to follow my lead, find what works best for you and your body.
